Youth Service Programs

Rotary believes in developing the next generation of leaders. Our programs help younger leaders build leadership skills, expand education and learn the value of service. There are many ways to involve club members with youth in your area to enhance your club in the community.

Earlyact is a service club for elementary students. Clubs benefit from sponsorship by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance. Their mission is to promote goodwill, understanding and peace through the active participation of its student members.Through committed citizenship and effective leadership they will improve the life of their school, local and global communities.

Interact is a service club for middle and high-schoolers. Clubs benefit from sponsorship by individual Rotary clubs, a Rotarian advisor to provide support and guidance. Interact has a membership of over 250,000 youth in more than 11,000 clubs worldwide. It’s one of Rotary’s fastest growing programs. Interact clubs are self-governing and self-supporting and can be either school or community based. There are clubs in over 120 countries and geographical areas. Interact’s global youth network is dedicated to community and international service. Every Interact club project, great or small, has a lasting impact on society worldwide.

The district committee holds an annual conference, club of the year contest and awards college scholarships for seniors.

The Georgia Laws of Life Essay Contest asks students to select their own Law of Life, and to write about how it applies to their lives. In doing so, students reflect deeply and write from the heart about what they think matters most. The contest celebrates the students’ stories and their often profound reflections, and proudly presents significant cash awards to students and teachers. Rotarians sponsor schools, judge essays and help celebrate students.

Camp RYLA gives high school students in our district the opportunity to network, communicate, and learn from not only successful leaders, Rotarians, and Rotary volunteer counselors but also fellow students. Rotary clubs sponsor each student. We host 80 high schoolers from north Georgia every year in hopes of sending each camper back home better equipped to be a leader in your school and community. You are given the opportunity to learn more about yourself through the voices and eyes of people who have experienced life and from people who can help you see things from a different point of view. While at camp, you have the chance to apply these skills through new adventures and outdoor exploration activities. Although camp lasts for four short days, many students leave with stories and friendships to last a lifetime. For more information on RLYA – please contact: RYLA6910@gmail.com
