I was Invited, Were You?

What if the next person who walks into your Rotary meeting isn’t just a guest — but the key to ten new connections in your community? Over the next ten weeks, we’ll introduce a cast of characters who could walk into any town… and need your help. From realtors to retirees, teachers to techies, each one is looking for something your club can offer.

Who Can You Help Connect?
Many of us joined Rotary because we were asked. I still remember my sponsor and my first meeting — it was a big deal. I was nervous, unsure, and didn’t really know what to expect.

Twenty-five years later, Rotary is still my favorite resource and the best “Conduit to the Community.”
If I relocated to another town — like yours — your Rotary Club would be my first connection.

Is your club a good community resource? Could you introduce me around? Could you help me get started?

For the next ten weeks, imagine helping each of these folks get involved.
Ask your club: Who would be important to this person?
And if they’re not already in your club, invite them next week.

Add your own ideas! Write them down — better yet, invite someone to visit next week.

Think broadly: optometrists, marketing experts, IT professionals, special interest groups (DAR/SAR), drone hobbyists, antique car collectors, motorcyclists, etc.

Drill down even further:
If it’s “church,” is it Methodist? Baptist? Independent? Invite your pastor or minister!

They need connection — just like your club.
So expand these lists. Who can you ask to visit next week, as a guest or speaker?
