ROTARY DISTRICT 6910 WILL LEAVE NO GIRL BEHIND!

Support our 2024 District Conference Girl Empowerment Service Project

Did you know 1 in 4 Georgia women struggle to afford necessary period products to be able to manage their menstrual cycles with dignity? 1 in 5 low-income women report missing school, work, and other key life events due to their lack of access to period supplies.

That’s why we will host a huge period product drive at our 2024 District Conference focused on improving menstrual equity and fight period poverty across District 6910. Working in partnership with Helping Mamas® we will do our part to ensure girls and women in our District are never left behind and have access to necessary period supplies essential to their education and workforce development success.

This wonderful idea was inspired by the passion of a dynamic group of Georgia Girl Scouts recently empowered with a District Designated Grant to address period poverty both internationally and stateside. Working arm-in-arm with District 6910 and District 7020 Rotarians and Girl Guides in the Bahamas they will host an international period poverty service project in Nassau in early April. They will then join us at our District Conference to lead our product drive and essentials kit assembly effort at Lake Lanier. These young ladies are learning first-hand how to identify a community challenge, plan with intent, and execute for impact and sustainability.

4 Ways You Can Help:

  1. Host a Club Period Product Drive in Your Community

Encourage your Club to help gather needed supplies, while educating about this important need, and bring your collections to District Conference. They accept all varieties of menstrual products such as tampons, pads, overnighters, and liners.

  1. Bring Product Donations to District Conference

Make your own personal impact by bringing needed products with you to District Conference.

  1. Make a Financial or In-Kind Donation Online

If you’d rather buy supplies online and have them shipped directly to Helping Mamas®, you can make a donation here. To make a direct financial donation to our drive, click here.

  1. Help Assemble Essentials Kits at District Conference

On Saturday, April  27th join us at 2:00 PM to assemble period essentials kits.

At the end of our District Conference Helping Mamas® will pick up our items and deliver them to partner organizations across District 6910. Click here to learn more about Helping Mamas® mission to fight period poverty.

Thank you for helping us empower girls in so many ways by supporting this great project!
