Summer may be a season of vacations for many, but across Rotary District 6910, it has been a season of service.
From supporting local celebrations and strengthening schools to caring for foster families, our clubs have demonstrated that meaningful impact comes in many forms. While each project looked different, they all shared one purpose: meeting real community needs through hands-on service.
The Rotary IMPACT Club of Clayton partnered with the City of Clayton’s “Stars Over Clayton” celebration, providing affordable concessions during the community’s America 250 celebration. Working alongside fellow Rotarians, club members served hundreds of families while raising funds for the Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust (CART). The project supported local economic development, brought the community together, and demonstrated how even a single-day event can create lasting value.
In Cherokee County, the Rotary Club of Canton focused on the health and well-being of students by organizing a school nurse supply drive. Members collected essential supplies for nurses serving schools throughout the Cherokee County School District. Their efforts will help equip health offices that serve more than 42,000 students across elementary, middle, high school, preschool, virtual, and alternative education campuses, ensuring nurses have the resources they need as a new school year begins.
Meanwhile, the Lanier Forsyth Rotary Club partnered with CASA during its Back-to-School Bash, providing childcare while foster parents and CASA volunteers completed required training. Rotarians also helped prepare backpacks filled with school supplies for children in foster care, allowing families to focus on training while ensuring students started school equipped for success. Approximately 150 families benefited from this day of service and support.
Individually, each of these projects addressed a unique community need. Together, they tell a larger story about what Rotary looks like in action.
Across these three projects alone, Rotarians contributed:
- 58 volunteers
- 174 hours of hands-on service
- More than $4,150 in cash and in-kind contributions
- An estimated impact reaching well over 42,000 people across our communities
And these projects represent just three of the more than 70 Rotary clubs serving throughout District 6910.
Every week, our clubs are finding new ways to strengthen schools, support families, improve community health, promote economic development, and respond to local needs. Whether it’s a large-scale initiative or a single afternoon of service, every project reflects Rotary’s commitment to creating lasting change.
As we continue our District 6910 Service Project Challenge throughout the Rotary year, these stories remind us that when clubs share their service, they don’t just celebrate accomplishments. They inspire others to dream bigger, serve together, and amplify our impact across every community we call home.
