ARE CORPORATE MEMBERSHIPS RIGHT FOR YOU?

A CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR YOU AND YOUR ROTARY CLUB?

By Peter Gleichman | Rotary Club of Canton

As the saying goes, “More hands make for lighter work.” One way to achieve that might be a corporate membership for your organization.  It could be your business, governmental entity, or nonprofit organization. The way a corporate membership works is that the entity is the member. There’s usually one executive member and maybe 2 or 3 associate members. The executive member would be the Rotarian and the associates would not.

This works well for an executive whose schedule precludes weekly attendance, but the organization is still represented at the meeting when an associate is there instead. The corporate membership would likely cover one meal at each Rotary meeting, whether it’s the executive or associate member who attends. If more than one of the corporate members attend, there would be an extra charge for the additional meal(s).

But that’s not the only benefit of a corporate membership! We currently have 6 corporate memberships in our club and 10 corporate associates. As such, 6 club memberships yield a total of 16 service-minded community members! How’s that for a multiplier effect! Plus, these 10 corporate associates aren’t just fill-ins; they are just as active in our community service projects as any other member of our club!

Think about how a corporate membership might work for you and for your Rotary club!
